Junior Class President
DEFINITION: The Junior Class President is responsible for the needs of the class for the school year; their main concerns are leading the class in events, and the class financial status. In order to do this, the president must identify the leaders within the class and recruit/motivate them to become a part of their class council. The class council then goes on to assist the president in running events throughout the school year. This position oversees the efforts of many, promotes team spirit, and generally is servant to the juniors for the school year. The president keeps the class involved by holding class meetings and celebrating the participation of students. All in all the Junior Class President works hard, but has fun.
DUTIES:
1. Attends School Site Council Meetings.
2. Serve as chairperson of the class council and leading, holding, and announcing class meetings. They must have an agenda for each meeting.
3. Schedules all class events in the master calendar.
4. Development and implementation of the process by which a fair and balanced class council is chosen.
5. Oversee all class events, working with the event Chairperson.
6. Attend daily leadership class and weekly business meetings.
7. Use and maintain working notebook.
8. Use and maintain master notebook.
QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Maintain a grade point average of 3.0 for each grading period from time of petitioning for the job until your final grading period.
2. Maintain eligibility according to district eligibility rules.
3. Enroll in Leadership Class.
4. Extra time available before and after school.
5. Must have been in ASB a minimum of one year.
PERSONAL QUALITIES:
1. Must be a good student role model.
2. Must be a confident speaker in front of large groups.
3. Must be organized and be able to delegate authority.
4. Must be able to manage and motivate people effectively.
5. Must be able to communicate effectively with others (peers and adults).
6. Must be able to manage time well and have time outside of leadership class.
Junior Class Vice-President
DEFINITION: The Junior Class Vice-President’s main concern is assisting the Junior Class President in understanding the needs of the class and leadership of class events throughout the year. The junior class vice-president is the spirit leader of the junior class. This position is one of overseeing the efforts of many, organizing and delegating work, and invoking team spirit. The vice-president gives full authority to the president while at the same time conveying a sense of leadership and the willingness to work hard to the rest of the class.
DUTIES:
1. Attends School Site Council Meetings when Junior Class President is unable to attend.
2. Assists the president in the selection of a balanced class council.
3. Assists in the scheduling of class events in the master calendar.
4. Assists in the scheduling of class meetings and class council meetings.
5. Fills in for the president (i.e. running class meetings) upon request.
6. Assists in the organization of the class for any event during the year.
7. Encourages, motivates, and praises fellow juniors.
8. Serve as an observer at the Representative Assembly Meeting.
9. Attend daily leadership class and weekly business meetings.
10. Use and maintain working notebook.
11. Use and maintain master notebook.
QUALIFICATIONS:
