    These are the descriptions of the ASB Officer positions.  
    These students will be in charge of running the ASB events and class and will work closely with the Activities Director and Assistant Principal in charge of Student Activities.

    A.S.B. President

     

    DEFINITION:  The Associated Student Body President is the primary student representative for Segerstrom Fundamental High School.  They must represent all of the students to the school’s staff and community.  The A.S.B. President must know, and demonstrate, how to lead effectively.  The A.S.B. President is the Chairperson of the A.S.B. Executive Council, Cabinet, and Associates.

     

    DUTIES: 

    1.              Serve as the primary student representative for Segerstrom Fundamental High School.

    2.              Serve as Chairperson for all A.S.B. Student Council business meetings.

    3.              Prepare the agenda for all A.S.B. Student Council business meetings according to their personality and directional theme.

    4.              Determine and communicate to the council the process for agenda requests.

    5.              Understand and use the privileged “veto” power effectively.

    6.              Attend daily leadership class and weekly business meetings.

    7.              Serve as an assistant on the creation of the yearly activity calendar.

    8.              Must be ready not only to delegate but to lead on all ASB projects and events.

     

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    1.                  Maintain a grade point average of 3.5 for each grading period from time of petitioning for the job until your final grading period.

    2.                  Maintain eligibility according to district eligibility rules.

    3.                  Enroll in Leadership Class.

    4.                  Extra time available before and after school.

    5.         Must be a junior or senior the upcoming year.

    6.         Must have been in ASB for a minimum of one year.

     

    PERSONAL QUALITIES:

    1.                  Must be a good student role model.

    2.                  Must be a confident speaker in front of large groups.

    3.                  Must be able to communicate effectively with others (peers and adults).

    4.                  Must be able to manage time well and have time outside of leadership class. 


    A.S.B. Vice President

     

    DEFINITION:  The Associated Student Body Vice President is the secondary student representative for Segerstrom Fundamental High School.  They must assist the A.S.B. President in the representation of all the students in the school, as well as the staff and community.  The ASB VICE PRESIDENT must take the place of the A.S.B. President in their absence.  The A.S.B. VICE PRESIDENT is second in the Chain of Command and is Co-Chairperson of the A.S.B. Executive Council.

     

    DUTIES: 

    1.                  Assume the A.S.B. Presidential position and responsibilities upon the absence of the elected A.S.B. President.

    2.                  Serve as the secondary student representative for Segerstrom Fundamental High School.

    3.                  Serve as Co-Chairperson and Sergeant of Arms for all Interclub Council.

    4.                  Serve as Chairperson for all Spirit Week activities.

    5.              Attend daily leadership class and weekly business meetings.

    6.              Serve as an assistant on the creation of the yearly activity calendar.

     

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    1.                Maintain a grade point average of 3.0 for each grading period from time of petitioning for the job until your final grading period.

    2.                  Maintain eligibility according to district eligibility rules.

    3.                  Enroll in Leadership Class.

    4.                  Extra time available before and after school.

    5.         Must be a junior or senior the upcoming year.

    6.         Must have been in ASB for a minimum of one Year.

     

     

    PERSONAL QUALITIES:

    1.                  Must be a good student role model.

    2.                  Must be a confident speaker in front of large groups.

    3.                  Must be able to communicate effectively with others (peers and adults).

    4.                  Must demonstrate leadership abilities effectively.

    5.                  Must have the desire to be a doer and motivate others.

    6.                  Must be able to manage time well and have time outside of leadership class.

    7.                  Must have high energy and the ability to delegate authority. 

     


    A.S.B. Secretary

     

    DEFINITION:  The Associated Student Body Secretary is the primary student in charge of records for A.S.B. Student Council meetings and activities.  The A.S.B. Secretary is third in the Chain of command and a member of the Executive Council.

     

    DUTIES: 

    1.               Prepare and distribute the Student Council Roster.

    2.               Maintain minutes for all A.S.B. business meetings.  Making sure they are prepared and ready to be distributed at each business meeting.

    3.               Assist the Activities Director with the Master Calendar process and data entry.

    4.               Assist the Leadership teacher in taking daily role.

    5.               Serve as a member of the Executive Council.

    6.               Attend daily leadership class and weekly business meetings.

    7.               Use and maintain working notebook.

    8.               Use and maintain master notebook.

     

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    1.              Maintain a grade point average of 3.0 for each grading period from time of petitioning for the job until your final grading period.

    2.              Maintain eligibility according to district eligibility rules.

    3.              Enroll in Leadership Class.

    4.              Must be computer literate and be able to type as meetings take place. Minutes must be typed as formal meetings are taking place.

    5.              Extra time available before and after school.

    6.              Must have been in ASB for a minimum of one year.

     

    PERSONAL QUALITIES:

    1.                  Must be a good student role model.

    2.                  Must be able to take accurate notes.

    3.                  Must be able to complete tasks on time and in an organized way.

    4.                  Must be able to manage time well and have time outside of leadership class.

     


     

    A.S.B. Treasurer

     

    DEFINITION:  The Associated Student Body Secretary is the primary student in charge of financial reports for A.S.B. Student Council meetings and activities.  The A.S.B. Treasurer is fourth in the Chain of command and a member of the Executive Council.

     

    DUTIES: 

    1.                 Prepare and distribute the Financial Report for weekly formal meetings and keep a balance statement of the Student Body Account.

    2.                 Keep records of club fundraisers and maintain a fundraising calendar.

    3.                 Assist the Activities Director with the Master Calendar process and data entry.

    4.                  Serve as a member of the Executive Council.

    5.                  Attend daily leadership class and weekly business meetings.

    6.                  Aid at least ten freshmen with their service learning requirement.

     

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    1.                  Maintain a grade point average of 3.0 for each grading period from time of petitioning for the job until your final grading period.

    2.                  Maintain eligibility according to district eligibility rules.

    3.                  Enroll in Leadership Class.

    4.                  Extra time available before and after school.

    5.         Must have been in ASB for a minimum of one year.

    3.                  Must be able to complete tasks on time and in an organized way.
