Michael A. Parra, Principal
Principal’s welcome message
Welcome to the 2024-2025 school year, Puma Family! Welcome to LGA, a place of hope and grace! My name is Michael Parra, and it remains an honor and privilege to serve as the principal.
LGA is a state-recognized model continuation high school, a distinction we are proud to have earned due to our amazing staff, students, and families. We strive to engage students with renewed opportunities for hope and success by providing the chance to recover academic credits, as well as the social and emotional skills necessary to be productive members of the local and global community. We meet our students where they’re at, and work together to provide personalized instruction to help our students succeed. We do this in a safe, welcoming environment; we follow all local and state health guidelines, and we regularly assess and refine our policies and protocols for everyone’s safety.
Our dedicated teachers provide all students with high-quality instruction designed to meet the needs of all our diverse learners. Utilizing small group instruction, targeted learning objectives, and consistent, meaningful feedback, our teachers strive to provide all students with engaging lessons to foster growth in academics, collaboration, communication, and critical thinking.
In addition, we have a number of skilled support providers who focus on students’ mental health and personal growth. We love to connect with our students and their families/guardians, so please do not hesitate to contact us with questions, concerns, requests for support, or anything else that we may be able to assist you with throughout your student’s journey with us.
